Welcome to the future!
I am delighted we are able to give a sneak preview and further insight into our new academy in Scartho.
The school has been years in the planning and Lincolnshire Gateway Academies Trust was delighted to be awarded the contract to run it.
The Trust is not responsible for the build but is being engaged at every stage by the council and its contractors.
The places provided are much needed in this part of Grimsby.
In the meantime, we are committed to working with residents to ensure the academy and its children get off to the best possible start.
Please look out for our events that will give more details. If you would like to volunteer on a stakeholder group and be a potential governor, please contact us here. enquiries@scarthogatewayacademy.co.uk.
I look forward to welcoming Scartho Gateway Academy’s first pupils in September, 2025.
Martin Brown
Chief Executive Officer
We have been working on our new free school to serve Scartho for a number of months and I am pleased to reveal more details.
I am excited to head up the staff team that will be responsible for opening Scartho’s first new primary in decades.
The Academy will build its numbers slowly, the aim being to have one reception class and a combined class in Years 1 and 2 and Years 3 and 4 initially.
Eventually, there will be 30 in a class across the seven primary age groups, leading to 210 much-needed places.
The school will also offer specialist provision for up to 12 primary-age pupils, specifically for those needing social and emotional support.
Our aim will be to ensure the same quality provision as elsewhere. Our three primaries are rated ‘good’ by Ofsted with outstanding practice in each.
The films on this website tell you more from a child and parent perspective and highlight the terrific extra-curricular activities provided.
I will be working with our partners, prospective parents, staff and residents to deliver a school of which the local community can be proud.

Executive Principal (Primary)
