Subject Leader for Art & Design – Adam Drury
Hello, my name is Adam Drury, and I am the subject leader for Art & Design. I have recently taken on this role this academic year.
I have a strong interest in Art & Design and believe that these subjects play an important role in children’s creativity, confidence and development. I enjoy creating positive opportunities for children to explore ideas, develop new skills and express themselves through different materials and techniques. I am passionate about making Art & Design enjoyable and inclusive for all pupils, while encouraging creativity, problem-solving, resilience and a positive attitude towards learning.
My vision for Art & Design is to provide every child with the opportunity to be creative, explore new ideas and develop their practical skills and confidence. I want Art & Design to be inclusive, engaging and accessible to all children, whilst learning about famous artists and exploring their different styles and techniques. I aim to develop creativity, problem-solving, resilience and independence, while encouraging children to take pride in their own ideas and creations.
I want children to understand that Art & Design is important because it will help them be creative, share their ideas and build confidence. I want children to enjoy fun and engaging lessons where they can explore different materials, try new things and be proud of what they create.
