Subject Leader for Science – Ruby Gharib
My name is Ruby Gharib and I am the Subject Leader for Science at Scartho Gateway Academy. I have been the lead for the subject since we opened a year ago and I have really enjoyed this role as it allows me to be creative and explore areas which interest me.
I feel passionate about creating opportunities to spark curiosity in children and believe Science is a great subject to achieve this goal. My goal links with the national curriculum as I want our children to learn about the different strands of Science in an engaging and fun way which presents opportunities to develop scientific knowledge and understand how science impacts us now and in the future.
My aim is to create an environment where children are actively engaged in their learning and able to ask questions to deepen their understanding. I would love to see children excited to tell other adults around the school about the knowledge they have gained and have opportunities to demonstrate this in a number of ways.
