A community meeting is being held to introduce our teaching team.
Scartho Gateway Academy will see children start in September. Places are available in Years 1 to 4 and parents / carers can apply now.
More details will be available at the open meeting at the Small Church Hall on Church Lane, Scartho on Monday, 19th May, between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.
Principal Melanie Portlock has left her previous post and is working full time on the preparations.
Lincolnshire Gateway Academies Trust, which will run the school, has also recently appointed an Assistant Principal, Sophia Berry-McNee, and teaching staff Eve Chandler, Ruby Gharib and Helena Pearson.
The school is located behind Aldi on Matthew Telford Park.
Mrs Portlock said: “It’s terrific to be able to focus full time on ensuring the school’s ready to take its first intake in September.
“We can’t wait to welcome parents and their children to the site.”
The school is being built by contractor Hobson and Porter, with North East Lincolnshire Council’s regeneration partner EQUANS responsible for the project.
“We had a site visit last week with the team and it was great to see the progress being made,” Mrs Portlock said.
“But the new academies are not just about their buildings. More important are the teams that will teach the children and the curriculum we are putting in place.
“The meetings are a fantastic opportunity for parents / carers to see what the new schools will offer.”
Mrs Portlock said places were available in Years 1 to 4.
“Years 5 and 6 will follow in years to come. Both schools will offer wraparound care from 7.30am to 6pm which we know is a big draw, particularly for working parents.
“We are delighted with the appointments. We know we have strong, experienced teams with proven track records of delivering excellent teaching.
“We look forward to meeting prospective parents at the event in Scartho.”
Executive Principal (Primary) at LGAT, Andrew Clark, was delighted to meet the team at the site visit.
“We had a large number of applications for all the teaching posts and a high-quality field to choose from,” he said.
“I am delighted with the appointments we have made. The team got together for the first time at the site visit, and you could sense the excitement about their fresh challenges and meeting their new colleagues.
“We can’t wait to open the doors in September.”
The academy is also appealing for community governors. If you are interested in the voluntary role, please email enquiries@scarthogatewayacademy.co.uk.
