Our first classes!
Happy pupils have been photographed in the first ever classes at our new school – with an invitation to prospective parents to see the “fantastic” learning environment.
We are hosting an open day on Wednesday, 5th November, for those whose children are starting in reception next September.
The school, next to Aldi on Matthew Telford Park, opened its doors last month.
Principal Mel Portlock was delighted with the first few weeks.
“It has been a whirlwind for staff, but the children settled into their new learning environment and routines really quickly,” she said.
“I am so proud of how quickly it has developed into a cohesive, caring school community and am looking forward to showing prospective parents and carers around on 5th November.
“They will see fantastic facilities being enjoyed by children following an exciting and engaging curriculum.
“We have had lovely feedback from current families saying how happy their children are at school. I’m lucky to have an outstanding staff team.”
There has been much interest in the new school and Mrs Portlock had hosted many visitors since opening.
“Scartho Top is a thriving community that we’re determined to be at the heart of. There are a lot of families close to the school and, clearly, word of mouth is having a positive impact on our numbers.
“For parents and carers whose children are due to start in reception next September, the deadline for deciding where their educational journey begins is 31st January.
“It’s looming on the horizon and we want to give an opportunity for those families to see what we have to offer.”
Those wanting to see the Early Years Foundation Stage setting, meet the teachers and hear about its curriculum can do so between 10am and 11am or 3.45pm and 4.45pm on Wednesday, 5th November.
