Scartho Gateway Academy Uniform
Excited children who will become the first to attend our new primary school tried on uniforms for size.
Scartho Gateway Academies will open in September.
Each child received a voucher, worth £29, enabling them to purchase a free branded jumper or cardigan, book bag, PE top and PE bag through suppliers Uniform Direct.
Vouchers for those not at the event and with children going to the school will be included in the next newsletter, sent out via the post.
Principal Mel Portlock remarked on the “buzz” created at the event, held at Waltham Toll Bar Academy, a member of Lincolnshire Gateway Academies Trust like the new school.
“It has made me so proud to see the children in their uniform. They look so smart and you can tell the parents are proud too,” she said.
“The parents have all been really nice. It has been another opportunity to get to know them as well as their children.
“What is great is that they are all engaged in their children’s learning. That’s going to be so important when we open in September.”
Sisters Oretomiwa and Iretomiwa Fatuase will join Years 1 and 4 respectively at Scartho Gateway.
Mum Titilope said: “It will be a new start and both are excited.”
Iretomiwa said she was most looking forward to the trips.
The school on Scartho Top is a game changer for one family.
Martyn Sandford and Laura Bensley live close to the school. Children Gracie (Reception), Hunter (Year 2), Theodore (Year 3) will make the short trip every morning, with Jaxson (10 months) to join them.
“It will save us a lot of time and money in transporting the boys and be healthier for them too,” said Martyn. “They will be able to get on their bikes and go to school as it’s so much closer.
“They really like the uniform.”
Places are still available in Years 1 to 4. Parents / carers wishing their child or children to attend should email either enquiries@scarthogatewayacademy.co.uk
