Reception places deadline looms

Limited places are available for our reception class starting in September – and parents / carers are reminded the deadline for doing so is this Thursday.

The cut off for the first-round allocation of school places for children aged three or four-years-old with birthdates between 1st September 2021 and 31st August 2022 is midnight on 15th January. They can apply by clicking on the link below.

Parents who have already submitted an application for their child will receive notification of their primary place on National (Primary) Offer Day on 16th April.

Principal Mel Portlock said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming pupils into our reception class in September.

“The demand for places at the academy since we opened in September has been extremely high and we anticipate our reception class being full later this year.

“Parents need to apply, though this is no guarantee of a place.

“You would expect, being a new build, to see fabulous resources here. But we much more than just a building.

“We have quickly established a sense of community. I am fortunate to lead a wonderful team and we are incredibly proud of the relationships built with children and their families.

“Most importantly, the children enjoy their time in school and, as a result, are thriving.”

Parents / carers wishing to visit can do so by emailing enquiries@scarthogatewayacademy.co.uk They can also use the same email to apply for an elder child.

Parents of children living in North East Lincolnshire and wanting a reception place in September are advised to apply online via the Parent Portal, found at www.nelincs.gov.uk/apply-for-a-school-place. Places are allocated by the council.
