Scartho Gateway Academy celebrates first Harvest Festival
Pupils, staff and families at Scartho Gateway Academy came together this week for a joyful celebration of their very first Harvest Festival.

As we mark just one term since opening our doors, the occasion was a special milestone for our staff and students.
Reverend Sheena Cleaton visited the school to share the meaning and importance of harvest, while children proudly presented songs, poems, and artwork they had created in class. The hall was filled with colour, music, and a real sense of togetherness.
One pupil said: “I liked singing our harvest song. It made me feel happy.”
Another added: “We brought in food to help people who don’t have very much. I hope it helps.”
The generosity of families was also on full display, with an impressive collection of food donations gathered. These have now been delivered to the Rock Foundation Community Hub Food Bank, supporting local families in need.

Principal Melanie Portlock expressed her pride in the school community.
She said: “It’s been wonderful to see our children come together to learn about the Harvest Festival and to give so generously. As a brand-new school, this celebration has truly shown the caring and compassionate spirit we’re building here in the Scartho Gateway community.”
The celebration marks the beginning of what promises to be many more meaningful traditions for this growing school community.
