Students explore the rhythms of Africa in music workshop
Our students enjoyed an exciting African music workshop, where they were introduced to a variety of traditional instruments.

They explored the sounds and rhythms of African music, trying out drums, shakers, bells, and other percussion instruments.
Working in small groups, the children experimented with creating their own rhythms and patterns before coming together to perform as one large ensemble.
The session concluded with a lively group performance, allowing every student to contribute and experience the joy of making music together.
Mr Drury said, “It was fun and engaging. The children all had huge smiles on their faces and were amazed by some of the sounds from the instruments.”
Students also shared their thoughts about the workshop. Madison said: “I really liked the different types of instruments we got to play and listening to the different groups perform together.”
Ire commented: “I liked how African music is linked to music we have in the UK, and how the drums had different tunes.”
It was a wonderful opportunity for students to discover new instruments, work collaboratively, and gain a deeper appreciation for African music.
