Year 3 and 4 shine at indoor athletics competition

Pupils from Year 3 and Year 4 enjoyed a fantastic morning of competition at the recent indoor athletics event, proudly representing Scartho Gateway Academy.

The children embraced the opportunity to try a range of new and exciting events, demonstrating determination, enthusiasm and excellent teamwork throughout. From running races to field challenges, every pupil gave their very best effort and supported one another with constant encouragement from the side-lines.

It was wonderful to see such strong team spirit on display. The children cheered each other on, showed resilience when faced with challenges, and approached every activity with positivity and big smiles. Their behaviour and sportsmanship were exemplary, truly reflecting the values of our school.

We are incredibly proud to share that the team finished in the second group of eight schools, meaning they have successfully qualified to progress to the next stage of the competition. This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to their hard work and determination.

The pupils themselves were full of praise for the experience. Ire said: “I really enjoyed the running events and the vertical jump because I felt I was really good at them.”

Noah B added: “It was a good day because I enjoyed all the events and seeing my friends do well.”
